“My name is Faizal, I am 11 months old, and I am from Afghanistan. I am going to tell you my story. I am nomad and always using colorful cloths, as it is part of the tradition of the Kuchi people. We like color. We live in tents and go around the country by donkeys. We are very close to each other and our families are a big family of the south of Afghanistan. I love my country because we have beautiful mountains and our culture goes way back in time. Because of the war, children of my tribe can not go to school, because we are always moving around, and teachers are afraid to come to us, and doctors too. I like moving around to make new friends, but we all know that if children don´t go to school the war will go on forever. Lack of education makes us fight each other, and fighting blocks our access to education. War will go on until the world understands that we don´t need more Kalashnikovs, we need more books and teachers, because only with knowledge we can spread the word, that only love can tackle the ongoing hate. We are all the same, after all. One day I want to be a teacher, to teach all the Kuchi and all the Afghans how to live in peace as one family, and to give the world an example that peace comes from our hearts, even after almost 50 years of war. Teaching is the solution, and knowledge is the most powerful weapon. I want to be a teacher, and to take my donkey to built schools all over my country.
That´s what I want. To be a teacher. Share my story if you want to help.”
